Im Sherry, also known as ChiaOwl or Owly on the net. I live in Houghton Lake, Michigan with my husband Pete and 15 year old daughter Casey. I have worked at home part of the last 5 years for our local Bug Man pest control service (the BEST in the area!) Parrots are my passion, and we have 13 of them, from 25YO cockatiel Pokey (my first bird) to 4YO red-bellied parrot Maxwell. We also have 3 dogs and a cat. Most of our birds are companions and pets; only 1 came to us as a newly-weaned baby and the others came with their own histories; a few arent tame in any sense of the word and are contentedly living out their lives here with roomy cages, lots of toys, great food, and the companionship of other flock members. Now about me personally. I grew up in Garden City, MI and graduated from now-defunct Garden City West Senior High in 1975. To me, age is only a number...so to save you the math, I was born in 1957 ;). I attended Schoolcraft Community College for a year, but changed my major from pre-nursing to music and attended Siena Heights College (now Siena Heights University), where I earned my BA in 1980. Ive had quite a bit of further education, earned some certifications, and had several careers since then, all of them involving either animals, geriatrics, or business. I married Caseys dad in 1988; the marriage lasted 8 years. Pete, who taught me what soulmate means, entered my life in 1998; we married on August 31, 2002.
