After high school in Wichita, Kansas I attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas where I majored in biology with emphasis on herpetology. I kept and bred reptiles as a hobby throughout the following years of working at different jobs to support my family. I was particularly honored to work under Ron Blakely in the herpetarium at Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita in the late 70s. I bred snakes and successfully hatched my first eggs in 1974. Like many in our profession/hobby, I was hooked on reptiles and amphibians since I was old enough to walk. My mother never discouraged my brother and me from catching and keeping our “pets” since there were no indigenous venomous reptiles in Wichita. I never dreamed I’d be able to “play” with snakes for a living. How lucky am I? In 1999, after the last of our three children were out of high school, Tammie and I sold our reptile pet shop in Wichita and moved to Texas. Living here in the Hill Country outside San Antonio, we vend at a few of the Texas reptile (captive bred only) shows, but our business is primarily Internet and mail order. Our breeding inventory shrinks and swells, but we generally have at least 700 breeding sized snakes here at any given time. This year, we anticipate producing over 4,000 hatchlings, most of which will be corn snakes. As you can see by our web site, we breed many other species of snakes too. Many of you are unaware that we breed some snake species that aren’t featured on the web site. We only produce enough of those to sell by word of mouth. No sense showing you something I won’t have enough of to sell. Some of those other snakes include ball pythons, Colombian boa constrictors, albino rosy boas, dusky hognoses, Durango mountain kings, black milks, different morphs of bull snakes and more. Also, plenty of NEW corn snake morphs each year. We are pleased you chose to visit our web site and encourage you to call or write anytime you have questions or comments about our products or about the care and breeding of snakes. If we don’t have answers to your questions, we’ll direct you to resources for them. Special thanks to Chris Killian for creating this web site and to Joshua Ingram for many enhancements and maintenance. They did a great job and we hope you agree it is beautiful, informative and easy to navigate. We’re very proud of their efforts. Among other feats, Joshua designed the image galleries where Ill be able to share many snake pictures for you to drool over. Im sure youll agree that Joshuas page designs are as attractive as they are easy to use.
