In 1990, American Pet Shampoos (APS) began doing research to develop a product to aid in the removal of attached ticks from pets and their owners. By the Spring of 1991, APS had developed, researched, tested, trademarked, patented, copyrighted and marketed the product now known as Tick Release. Tick Release is a high interest product because there is nothing else like it, to date, on the market. It is sold through veterinarians, feed stores, outdoors and forestry catalogs among others.
